Before starting The Lawyers O’Reilly PC, Brendan O’Reilly worked for the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, the New Mexico Public Defender, a few PI firms, a med mal defense firm, and as a general practitioner. Brendan attended the University of New Mexico School of Law on a full scholarship from and remains a client of the New Mexico Commission for the Blind.

Brendan now does Estate Planning, Elder Law / Medicaid Planning, Probate, serious Personal Injury / Wrongful Death, and limited Civil Litigation.

Brendan is a fourth-generation resident of Albuquerque and a third-generation New Mexico lawyer. Brendan’s maternal grandfather practiced law in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico and in the late-1960s chaired a Constitutional Convention to suggest amendments to the New Mexico Constitution. Brendan’s dad, Mel B. O’Reilly, joined the New Mexico Bar in 1971 and had law offices in Carlsbad, Ruidoso, and Albuquerque.

Brendan has served on the Boards of Crossroads for Women, the New Mexico Estate Planning Council, and the State Bar of New Mexico’s Trial Practice and Solo and Small Firm sections.

Brendan’s spouse, Amy Hawkins, is a fifth-generation New Mexican whose ancestor, Albert B. Fall, was one of New Mexico's first U.S. Senators and the Secretary of the Interior before his downfall as a result of the Tea Pot Dome scandal.

Brendan met Amy when they were kids and they reconnected via Facebook.

Brendan was the 1994 "Funniest Teenager in Albuquerque Stand-up Comedy" Champion.

So… he’ll always have that.
